Similar to the South Beach Diet, the Sonoma Diet is broken down into three different phases (called “waves” on the Sonoma Diet). 

  1. Sonoma Diet ReviewWave 1 lasts only ten days.  From day one, you get to eat healthy, flavorful foods.  However, the food combinations and portions allowed in this phase are intended to kick-start your weight-loss.
  2. Wave 2 lasts until you have reached your weight-loss goal.  During this phase, a variety of foods are introduced.  You’ll learn to appreciate fresh foods more.  You won’t feel deprived.  In fact, you are even allowed to drink a little wine during Wave 2!
  3. Wave 3 is the final phase.  You begin this stage of the Sonoma Diet once you have reached your weight-loss goal.  Wave 3 is the stage that you will adopt to maintain your weight indefinitely.  By this phase, you should have learned healthy new eating habits, and you should be prepared to continue your healthy new lifestyle.  Your appreciation of food should be enhanced.  Your self-confidence should have greatly improved, and you should look and feel better.

Our Review – The Sonoma Diet

One satisfied customer who tried the Sonoma Diet had been overweight since high school.  She also had high blood pressure and was on medication to treat that condition.  After going on the Sonoma Diet, she lost 45 pounds.  By her 25th high school class reunion, she felt better and looked years younger.  Her blood pressure had improved, too!

The one thing I found lacking with the Sonoma Diet is that it doesn’t mention anything about physical activity.  The best weight-loss programs, in my opinion, recommend regular exercise.  Nevertheless, the Sonoma Diet does focus on healthy, balanced meals.  It doesn’t exclude any one food group, so you never feel deprived.  It even includes having an occasional glass of wine!

The Sonoma Diet is based on the Mediterranean Diet, which encourages plenty of olive oil and heart-healthy foods.  You don’t have to count calories on this diet.  Just choose foods from the generous lists provided and follow the portion guidelines!  There are over 500 recipes from which to choose, so you shouldn’t get bored with the same old meals. 

The Sonoma Diet is a simple diet plan, and it can work!  Lots of people have had good weight-loss success with the Sonoma Diet.  But, you have to do your part and remain dedicated to the diet plan to lose the weight and keep it off.  Start an exercise program, as well, and you should be well on your way to a slimmer, healthier you!
